Salmon and Trout Association: Gift Aid
The S&TA has been granted Charitable Status under Charity No. 1123285 and your subscription and donation payments can now be gift aided. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get a contribution from the Inland Revenue, helping your subscription/donation go further.
Make a Gift Aid declaration
I want all subscriptions and donations I’ve made to the Salmon & Trout Association Ltd since 12th March 2008 and all subscriptions and donations in the future to be treated as Gift Aid donations until I notify you otherwise.
- You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying the Association.
- You must pay an amount of income tax and / or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that the Charity reclaims on your donations in the tax year (currently 25p for every £1 you give).
- If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that the Association reclaims, you can cancel your declaration. (see note 1)
- If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.
- Please notify the S&TA if you change your name or address.
Tax claimed by the charity:
- The Salmon & Trout Association will reclaim 28p of tax on every £1 you gave between 12th March 2008 and 5th April 2008.
- The Salmon & Trout Association will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 you give on or after 6th April 2008.
- The Government will pay to the Salmon & Trout Association an additional 3p on every £1 you give between 6th April 2008 and 5th April 2011. This transitional relief for the charity does not affect your personal tax position.
If you pay income tax at the higher rate, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return if you want to receive the additional tax relief due to you.
